PhD candidate at Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels
Sofia Papadimitriou is a researcher at Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels (collaboration between ULB and VUB). Her research is focused on oligogenic diseases, i.e. genetic diseases caused by mutations at multiple genes, such as hereditary deafness and Hirschsprung disease, and the application of bioinformatics and machine learning methods to understand their genetic architecture. Further experience in plant genomics and data analysis, bacterial genomics and phylogeny, system biology and network inference.
